The "peroneal nerve" located just below the knee is very close to the surface. If you hit this nerve in just the right spot, you may have a vasovagal response, and you may faint or blackout. This is the same kind of response you would have if you hit your funny bone in the right spot.

What can you do to not feel dizzy or nausea afterwards?
ReplyDeleteI know this an old post, but just to warn/update you can hit a nerve in the ankle also, it is just behind your ankle twords the akheli tendon.
ReplyDeleteOk, thanks for the info. I can imagine that. It's a sensitive area, too.
Deleteis it safe to drive home after fainting
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth. If you don't need medical attention, then I would recommend waiting an hour or so before driving. Then reassess how you feel. See a doctor if you have persistent pain, dizziness or other concerning symptoms. If you don't feel well enough to drive for a while, then play it save.
